PRODUCT DATA of Osprey CE7
MaterialOsprey CE7
Product DatasheetOsprey CE alloys
General InformationBy changing the alloy composition of the aluminium-silicon system, the CTE of the material can be adjusted to a couple of technical relevant materials like steel, glass, titanium or electroless nickel.
Commercially available are alloys containing between 20 and 87 wt % silicon. By raising the silicon content, the physical properties density and thermal expansion decrease while the specific stiffness increases.
Due to a powder-metallurgical production process like spray deposition or melt spinning, the rapidly solidified aluminium alloy becomes fine grained, homogeneous and isotropic. CNC machining techniques like turning and milling can be applied.
PrecautionsFragile material
